A set is a number of cards released on the same date. This can be identified by the set symbol on a card; cards with the same set symbol (regardless of rarity colors) belong to the same set. Cards included in one set often share same or similar themes — both in lore and art as well as in abilities and mechanics.

With the patch on November 22, 2019 (Historic Anthology 1) twenty cards from older sets were added to the game.[1] These partially sets include cards from Gatecrash, Invasion, Eldritch Moon, Darksteel, Morningtide, Magic Origins, Magic 2011, Modern Horizons, Saviors of Kamigawa, Magic 2010, Lorwyn, Rise of the Eldrazi, Weatherlight, Eighth Edition and Worldwake.

With the patch on December 12, 2019 the card Rhys the Redeemed from Shadowmoor was added. [2]

With the return of the Brawlidays event in February 2020, the card Talrand, Sky Summoner from Magic 2013 was added. The game update on February 11, 2020 added The Gitrog Monster from Shadows over Innistrad with the Brawlers' Guildhall event.[3]

On March 14, 2020 Historic Anthology 2 added 25 cards to the game from the sets Alara Reborn, Conflux, Dark Ascension, Dragons of Tarkir, Innistrad, Journey into Nyx, Magic 2015 Core Set, Mercadian Masques, Odyssey, Onslaught, Return to Ravnica, Scars of Mirrodin, Shards of Alara and Zendikar. On the same day the card Bladewing the Risen from Scourge was added, although it is not considered to be part of Historic Anthology 2.

On May 21, 2020 Historic Anthology 3 added 27 cards to the game from the sets Battle for Zendikar, Champions of Kamigawa, Dragon's Maze, Judgment, Legions, Magic 2012, New Phyrexia, Planar Chaos, Theros, Time Spiral and Torment. On the same day the card Hanna, Ship's Navigator from Invasion was added, although it is not considered to be part of Historic Anthology 3.
