A Pack is a package of random Magic Cards from a particular expansion set , designed to add to a player's collection.
Contents[]
In Magic: The Gathering Arena there are two types of Pack: regular Packs and draft Packs.
Regular Packs can be bought from the Store, earned from Weekly Rewards, or won as prizes in Events. A regular Pack contains 8 non-repeating cards: 1 Rare or Mythic Rare, 2 Uncommon, and 5 Common rarity cards. Each card has a chance of being replaced with a wildcard.
Draft Packs are packs used for drafting in Quick Draft. They contain 14 non-repeating cards: 1 Rare or Mythic Rare card, 3 uncommon, and 10 Common cards. Unlike Regular Packs, these packs do not contain wildcards.
Cost[]
Individual packs can be purchased with Gold and bundles of packs can be bought with Gems. The price of regular Packs in the store are:
- 1 pack - 1000 Gold.
- 3 packs - 600 Gems.
- 6 Packs - 1200 Gems.
- 15 Packs - 3000 Gems.
- 45 Packs - 9000 Gems.
- 90 Packs - 18000 Gems.
Draft entry costs 5000 Gold and gives 3 draft Packs plus prizes.
Pity Timer[]
Regular Packs have a pity timer. A pity timer guarantees that a wildcard of a particular rarity is guaranteed after opening a certain number of Packs. Given the guaranteed wildcards from purchasing 90 Packs [1], the pity timer can be deduced as 5 Packs for common and uncommon Wildcards, 15 Packs for Rare wildcards and 30 Packs for Mythic Rares. This information has been confirmed by the Executive Producer [2].
