An Event is a special game mode in Magic: The Gathering Arena. Structure, format and rewards differ from the regular Ranked Constructed gameplay. Some also require an entry fee.
These event types were introduced to Magic: The Gathering Arena:
- Competitive Constructed
- Competitive Draft
- Flash Events
- Quick Constructed
- Quick Draft
- Quick Singleton
Event Calendar[]
A calendar for past, running and future events can be found here. It includes start times, entry locks, format and entry costs and is regularly updated.
Flash Events[]
In addition to the regular events there are also short term events that can happen independly from the event calendar.
On May 2/3, 2018[1] there was a first flash event. Players competed with constructed decks for an entry fee of 1000 or 200 . The event ended at either three wins or two losses. Rewards were one guaranteed Dominaria pack and a random amount of Gold or additional Packs (up to three total).
On May 17/18, 2018 there was another flash event with the same setup as the previous one on May 2/3.[2]
On May 22/23, 2018 there was another flash event with the same setup as the previous one.[3]
Dominaria Standard Festival[]
On July 6 to July 8, 2018 the Dominaria Standard Festival happened. Following rules and rewards were posted so far:[4]
Entry Fee: 1000 gold or 190 gems; Match Structure: Single game; Event Ends After: 5 wins or 2 losses (whichever comes first); Event Prizes:
- 0 wins: 1 8-card Dominaria booster, 1 Dominaria individual card reward at minimum uncommon rarity
- 1 win: 1 8-card Dominaria booster, 2 Dominaria individual card rewards at minimum uncommon rarity
- 2 wins: 1 8-card Dominaria booster, 3 Dominaria individual card rewards at minimum uncommon rarity
- 3 wins: 1 8-card Dominaria booster, 2 Dominaria individual card rewards at minimum uncommon rarity and 1 at minimum rare rarity
- 4 wins: 1 8-card Dominaria booster, 1 Dominiaria individual card reward at minimum uncommon rarity and 2 at minimum rare rarity
- 5 wins: 2 8-card Dominaria boosters, 3 Dominaria individual card rewards at minimum rare rarity
