Energy is a resource and mechanic that was introduced in Kaladesh. It is represented by the symbol 
and allows energy counters to be generated and spent. Unlike most other forms of counters energy counters are accumulated and placed on a player not an object such as a Permanent. i.e Energy generated by one card can be spent on the ability of another card.
Energy is not related to mana, and energy counters are not lost at the end of a turn.
