Amonkhet is the third set in Magic: The Gathering Arena and the first set in the Amonkhet block.
During an preceding Developer Livestreams Amonkhet was confirmed to be playable during the closed beta.
Chronological Discrepancy[]
While in paper Magic Amonkhet was released on April 28, 2017, in Arena was implemented in-game after the Ixalan block which was released in September 29, 2017 in paper Magic/since the alpha phase in Arena.

Themes & Mechanics[]
With Amonkhet these mechanics were introduced to Arena:[1]
- Aftermath: Split cards, that let you play spells from your graveyard.
- Main article: Aftermath
- Cycling: An ability, which let's you discard the card from your hand to draw another card.
- Main article: Cycling
- Embalm: An activated ability on creatures in the graveyard, which creates a token and exiles the creature from the graveyard.
- Main article: Embalm
- Exert: An ability, which may be used, when a creature attacks. The effect of the ability happens, but the creature won't untap during the next untap step.
